For about a year, in the 80’s, my mom, brother, and I lived in a little living space in the Odwalla Warehouse in Davenport. It was spacious but we slept on couches. The owner was mean but it was good roughing it fun times.

The Incredibly Strange Films book was a Bible to me in high school and beyond. As a young man I had the amazing fortune to work with and befriend Herb Robins, Ted V Mikels, and Ray Dennis Steckler. I learned about all three of them from that book.

All That Could Have Been

I’m getting there. I can’t paint a straight line to save my life but it’s looking pretty good. I hated the vampire mask I was going to paint. But it feels weird and loaded to not paint a head. I’ll figure it out. Frustrated

Last night’s progress. It’s a start

That “interesting” feeling when you gesso over a painting on a $500 canvas only to remember in the middle of the night that the background was all done in oil paint.
Not happy is putting it mildly.

Finished a painting this morning!

Went to @mattieleedspottery ’s for Doon Arts today.
Creature 2 got a pig pot. First pic is of Creature 1 in 2017.
Mattie showed me what he’s been working on lately: wild, dysfunctional, some figurative, pots. Super inspiring!

Started a new painting tonight and I don’t paint faces very often but I’m just in love with this one.
Looks haunted to me.

Oswald, Blitzer, PVA, oh my!

A group of shows coming up.

The Feminie at Oswald. I’ve got seven paintings up at Oswald right now as part of their The Feminine show. Some great work there. The show runs through June 2nd.
The artist’s reception is Sunday, May 19th from 5 to 7. Come check it out.
R. Blitzer is having a whirlwind one week, 10th Anniversary show in June. I’ve been invited to hang one painting. They will be open for First Friday on June 7th and the show comes down on June 14th. Wam, bam, thank you Blitzer.
I will have a painting in the Pajaro Valley Arts Member Show. First time for me. That runs from June 19th to July 28th. The artist’s reception will be on June 23rd from 2 to 4.
