For about a year, in the 80’s, my mom, brother, and I lived in a little living space in the Odwalla Warehouse in Davenport. It was spacious but we slept on couches. The owner was mean but it was good roughing it fun times.

The Incredibly Strange Films book was a Bible to me in high school and beyond. As a young man I had the amazing fortune to work with and befriend Herb Robins, Ted V Mikels, and Ray Dennis Steckler. I learned about all three of them from that book.

All That Could Have Been

I’m getting there. I can’t paint a straight line to save my life but it’s looking pretty good. I hated the vampire mask I was going to paint. But it feels weird and loaded to not paint a head. I’ll figure it out. Frustrated

That “interesting” feeling when you gesso over a painting on a $500 canvas only to remember in the middle of the night that the background was all done in oil paint.
Not happy is putting it mildly.

Finished a painting this morning!
It’s Getting Late.

Went to @mattieleedspottery ’s for Doon Arts today.
Creature 2 got a pig pot. First pic is of Creature 1 in 2017.
Mattie showed me what he’s been working on lately: wild, dysfunctional, some figurative, pots. Super inspiring!

Started a new painting tonight and I don’t paint faces very often but I’m just in love with this one.
Looks haunted to me.

One of the important, little pleasures, of making art is receiving pics of my paintings in their homes.

The art pieces on my walls mean a lot to me. They inspire me, make me laugh, make me sad, make me feel. I hope my paintings do the same for their buyers.
