All That Could Have Been
I’m getting there. I can’t paint a straight line to save my life but it’s looking pretty good. I hated the vampire mask I was going to paint. But it feels weird and loaded to not paint a head. I’ll figure it out. Frustrated

That “interesting” feeling when you gesso over a painting on a $500 canvas only to remember in the middle of the night that the background was all done in oil paint. Not happy is putting it mildly.

Went to @mattieleedspottery ’s for Doon Arts today. Creature 2 got a pig pot. First pic is of Creature 1 in 2017. Mattie showed me what he’s been working on lately: wild, dysfunctional, some figurative, pots. Super inspiring!
Started a new painting tonight and I don’t paint faces very often but I’m just in love with this one. Looks haunted to me.
Santa Cruz Sentinel Article

The Santa Cruz Sentinel published a well written article on me and a fellow painter. Go check it out HERE.

The author, Christa Martin, asked for a head shot. I asked if I could politely refuse. She said that her editor insisted. I sent the worst possible picture, 'They won't print this.' Well, they printed it.

Opening Open Studios 2014

After some encouragement, I applied, and was accepted into Santa Cruz's Open Studios Art Tour 2014. A cool honor.

I have around twenty-five paintings that I'm willing to part with at the moment. One piece is down at the Santa Cruz Art League show and one is at the R. Blitzer show. Both are smaller 16x20" paintings.

My studio is a mess. My carpet is filthy. But, with the help of my family and friends, the paintings are hung, and I think I'm ready to open the studio to the public.

We'll see if anyone shows up.
