All That Could Have Been
I’m getting there. I can’t paint a straight line to save my life but it’s looking pretty good. I hated the vampire mask I was going to paint. But it feels weird and loaded to not paint a head. I’ll figure it out. Frustrated

That “interesting” feeling when you gesso over a painting on a $500 canvas only to remember in the middle of the night that the background was all done in oil paint. Not happy is putting it mildly.

Finished a painting this morning! It’s Getting Late.
Went to @mattieleedspottery ’s for Doon Arts today. Creature 2 got a pig pot. First pic is of Creature 1 in 2017. Mattie showed me what he’s been working on lately: wild, dysfunctional, some figurative, pots. Super inspiring!
Started a new painting tonight and I don’t paint faces very often but I’m just in love with this one. Looks haunted to me.

Thank you to everyone who came by for Open Studios this year. I had a lot of fun visiting with old and new friends.

I was asked to fill in for an MIA artist for a show at The Nook in Santa Cruz. The show will be up November and December. I'll post more information on my Facebook page. I will be at The Nook for a reception on First Friday, which will be Friday, November 4th. I think the hours are 6 to 8 or something like that. I'll let you know. Please come by. Don't make me drink all the wine by myself. Thanks.
