The Incredibly Strange Films book was a Bible to me in high school and beyond. As a young man I had the amazing fortune to work with and befriend Herb Robins, Ted V Mikels, and Ray Dennis Steckler. I learned about all three of them from that book.

All That Could Have Been

I’m getting there. I can’t paint a straight line to save my life but it’s looking pretty good. I hated the vampire mask I was going to paint. But it feels weird and loaded to not paint a head. I’ll figure it out. Frustrated

Last night’s progress. It’s a start

That “interesting” feeling when you gesso over a painting on a $500 canvas only to remember in the middle of the night that the background was all done in oil paint.
Not happy is putting it mildly.

Finished a painting this morning!

Went to @mattieleedspottery ’s for Doon Arts today.
Creature 2 got a pig pot. First pic is of Creature 1 in 2017.
Mattie showed me what he’s been working on lately: wild, dysfunctional, some figurative, pots. Super inspiring!

Started a new painting tonight and I don’t paint faces very often but I’m just in love with this one.
Looks haunted to me.

4 Hours in 1 Minute

This was a small painting, 12x12". Acrylic on wood.

Normally, I mask my paintings and go crazy, but the small size made masking impossible for me.

The video would have been longer but I was getting frustrated trying to paint with one hand. Also, Atticus was waiting to go on a walk.
